ROBERT K. FUNKEY

​

Robert K. Funkey serves as Chairman on the Moose International, Inc. Board of Directors for The Moose. He was nominated and elected to this position at the 136th International Moose Convention in New Orleans, Louisiana. Prior to this post, Bob served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors (2023-2024), Director/Chaplain (2022-2023) and as a Director on the Moose International, Inc. Board of Directors for The Moose. Bob served as a member of the Moosehaven Board of Directors (2014-2019), Loss Prevention Committee (2012-2014) and on Moose International’s Government Relations Committee (2010-2012).

Bob joined the fraternity as a member of St. Clair Shores, MI Lodge 1837 in April 1995. He also holds membership in Grayling, MI Lodge 1162, Painesville, OH Lodge 490, North Pole, AK Lodge 306 Antler, VA Lodge 2726 and Dickinson, ND Lodge 2728. Bob served the St. Clair Shores Lodge as Treasurer, Jr. Governor, Governor, and Jr. Past Governor; and has chaired the Audit, Life Care, Special Projects, Gimme Five, and Call to Action Committees. He is also a Lodge Ritualist and Administrator of Grayling Lodge #1162.

Bob elevated to Michigan Moose Legion 105 in April 1998; he has served as President, Secretary, Jr. Past President and Prelate. He also holds Moose Legion membership in East Michigan, Legion 107, Tar Heel, NC 158 and Alaska Interior, Legion 216.

​

At the Association level, Bob has served the Michigan Moose Association by chairing committees on Moose Charities, Government Relations, Special Projects, Fraternal Fundraising and Loss Prevention as well as serving the District 4 as Prelate, Vice President, President, Jr. Past President, Audit Chair and Secretary. He also served as Deputy Supreme Governor for the 2009 2010 Moose Year and as a Technical Trainer, 2-HOTT Trainer and Lodge Leadership Trainer. He is also the Training Coordinator for Michigan.

Bob is a member of the 75 Division of the Moose 25 Club. He received the Fellowship Degree of Honor in 2004 and the Pilgrim Degree of Merit in 2011. Bob was nominated for Moose International Shining Star Moose Legionnaire of the Year for the 2009-2010 Moose Year. He is also a fourteen-time League of Guardian recipient.

Outside of the Moose, Bob belongs to the Knights of Columbus. He attended the University of Michigan and is retired from bank branch management after 32 years.

​

He and his wife Cathy reside in Roscommon, Michigan. They have four children and sixteen grandchildren, and a new great granddaughter.
